Bishop Joseph M. Siegel has appointed Joel Padgett as Director of Catechesis for the Diocese of Evansville. He will assume his duties July 6.
Joel holds a M.A. in Theology from St. Meinrad. He brings over 17 years of experience in domestic and international Church-related administration, including 12 years of experience in catechesis and youth ministry.
Padgett most recently served as Parish Catechetical Leader and Youth Protection Coordinator for St. John the Evangelist Parish in Daylight.
Bishop Siegel said, “I am happy to welcome Joel to the diocesan staff. He brings a strong theological background and a wealth of practical experience in catechetical ministry, especially on the parish level. I am confident his leadership will further strengthen our efforts to provide life-long faith formation for the people in our 12 counties.”
Padgett said, “I am humbled by and grateful for the opportunity to serve Our Lord and the people of our diocese as the new Director of Catechesis. I entrust my ministry to Our Blessed Mother, patroness of our diocese, and I ask that you please keep me in prayer that I may truly be a good instrument in helping others to grow in their knowledge of and love for Jesus Christ and His Church."
