Fifteen men from across the Diocese of Evansville have entered formation for the permanent diaconate.
They include Doug Ackerman of Precious Blood Parish in Jasper, Peter Barry of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Daylight, Chris Bassler of St. John the Baptist Parish in Newburgh, Dr. William Blanke of Good Shepherd Parish in Evansville, Matthew Bohleber of St. Philip Parish in Posey County, Jerry Durchholz of Good Shepherd Parish in Evansville, Phillip Durcholz of St. John the Baptist Parish in Newburgh, Scott Griffen of St. Matthew Parish in Mount Vernon, Brian Ketzner of Precious Blood Parish in Jasper, Luis Londono of Holy Rosary Parish in Evansville, Matthew McDowell of Resurrection Parish in Evansville, Joshua Reising of St. Philip Parish in Posey County, Ray Alan Ruppel of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Vincennes, Jack Tuinier of Christ the King Parish in Ferdinand and Jorge Velasco of Good Shepherd Parish in Evansville.
Bishop Joseph M. Siegel celebrated Mass and presided over the Rite of Admission to Candidacy for the men Oct. 6 in the chapel of Sarto Retreat House in Evansville.
