Catholic Charities hosts Neighbor to Neighbor appreciation breakfast

Catholic Charities Diocese of Evansville hosted an appreciation breakfast Nov. 19 for the volunteers who support their Neighbor to Neighbor program across the Diocese of Evansville.

Catholic Charities Executive Director Denise Seibert Townsend welcomed about 15 volunteers to the inaugural appreciation breakfast at Catholic Charities in Evansville, and she thanked each of them for sharing their time and talents.

“Catholic Charities strives to provide opportunities where people feel seen, supported and valued — whether through helping families find stability, individuals discovering a path forward or neighbors receiving the care they need to thrive,” Seibert Townsend said. “However, we cannot do this work without the amazing support and dedication of our volunteers. We wanted to use today as a small way to show our gratitude and appreciation for our Neighbor to Neighbor volunteers. Your efforts have enabled Catholic Charities to impact multiple people and provide them hope for the future.”

Father Brian Emmick, pastor of Precious Blood Parish in Jasper, offered a prayer before everyone enjoyed breakfast.

After breakfast and fellowship, Karen Robertson, outreach coordinator for Catholic Charities, gave a presentation with updates and statistics from the program, which is currently offered in Evansville, Princeton and Jasper.
