Special to The Message

On Dec. 18, Donna Folz, a teacher at St. Philip School in Posey County, was named the December 2024 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Outstanding Educator by the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Schools Office. Folz was surprised by Diocesan Superintendent Michelle Priar, Associate Superintendent Kari Ford and School Support Administrator Lynde Anquillare, who presented her with a certificate and a small gift.

A nominator said Folz “goes above and beyond” for St. Philip’s staff and students.

The nominator continued and said, “She strives to help our students live a faith-filled life in and out of school by starting religion retreats for each grade level, helping to put together weekend school Masses, morning rosary opportunities for the kids, and creating a schedule to help ensure our students get to adoration. She’s highly involved in our student council, science extracurriculars and more. If it needs to be done, Donna is there to make it happen with a smile on her face!”
