Peaceful march kicks off 40 Days for Life fall campaign

Young adults carry a banner as they lead the group, many carrying signs, who joined the sixth annual 40 Days for Life prayer vigil and procession Sept. 29. The kick-off march, originally scheduled for Sept. 24, was rescheduled due to expected inclement weather. The group walked from Reitz Memorial High School to the Planned Parenthood office on North Weinbach Ave. to kick off the fall 2024 observance of 40 Days for Life, which is Sept. 25 through Nov. 3. The campaign consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting in shifts outside of a clinic or hospital that performs abortions or an abortion referral center. The Diocesan Office of Marriage, Family and Life and Right to Life of Southwest Indiana coordinated the event. The Message will have full coverage of the 40 Days for Life kick-off in the Oct. 11 issue.
