As announced in the July 17 issue of The Message, Bishop Joseph M. Siegel will consecrate the Diocese of Evansville to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Sept. 12, the Memorial of the Holy Name of Mary, after 9 a.m. CDT Mass at St. Benedict Cathedral. Along with the diocesan consecration, the bishop has asked diocesan priests to consecrate their parishes to the Immaculate Heart of Mary; and he encourages individuals to consecrate themselves. In the weeks before (typically the 33 days), we are all invited to spiritually prepare for this consecration. Next Monday, Aug. 10, is the start of the 33-day preparation for those who wish to do so. A resource page is available on the diocesan website that will include daily videos from the diocesan vocations office. Visit the resource page at http://www.evdio.org/consecration.html.
