Rhonda Weissmann tackles new assignment: Retirement!

Rhonda Weissmann

After 15 years of serving as the Administrative Assistant for the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Schools Office, Rhonda Weissmann retired at the end of May. Bishop Joseph M. Siegel celebrated Mass in the Mary, Mother of God Chapel at the Catholic Center in Evansville May 30, followed by a luncheon in the Sarto Retreat House to honor Weissmann for her service.

Before she joined the Catholic Schools Office at the Catholic Center, Weissmann served for 13 years at Annunciation School Holy Spirit Campus.

“I have truly enjoyed my time working for the Diocese of Evansville,” she said. “Working every day with people who share your faith is such a joy. I will miss all of the people I have met along the way but I am looking forward to my new adventure.”

Diocese of Evansville Superintendent of Schools Michelle Priar said it’s bittersweet.

“We are so happy for Rhonda that she gets to begin this new chapter in her life, but selfishly, we're a little sad,” Priar said. “She has such a friendly, cheerful, and compassionate presence that will definitely be missed. For over 15 years, she's been the first voice that most people hear when they call the Catholic Schools Office. She has a way of putting people at ease right away, always making them feel as if their need is the most important thing at the moment. It's been a blessing and a privilege to have worked with Rhonda these past 15 years! She will be missed!”
