Source + Summit 2026 is March 13-15 at Mater Dei High School

Special to The Message

Source + Summit will celebrate 25 years in the Diocese of Evansville with their annual retreat this March.

The young people of the diocese (ages 13-24) are invited to join hundreds of youth at the 25th Anniversary — Source + Summit 2026 — “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).  Source + Summit will be March 13-15 at Evansville’s Mater Dei High School.

At this year’s retreat, they will welcome back Benedictine Father Augustine Wetta, a dynamic monk, teacher, author and speaker whose life and work blend faith, creativity and humor impact all who encounter him. He is a member of St. Louis Abbey in Missouri, where he is a high school teacher and rugby coach. Father Augustine has reached audiences worldwide, with his works translated into five languages and Humility Rules selling over 100,000 copies.

Franciscan Friars Father Giles and Brother Kolbe; Sister M. Gemma of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George; and the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia will also be in attendance.

The Scally Brothers, a dynamic duo from Toledo, Ohio, will lead praise and worship. They will partner with the Source + Summit music team.

In commemoration of their 25th anniversary, each participant will receive a Holy Card of St. Carlo Acutis with St. Pierre Giorgio Frassatti, which was touched to the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis in Assisi, Italy. It is a relic of St. Carlo Acutis and blessed by Pope Leo XIV and Diocese of Evansville Bishop Joseph M. Siegel.

Source + Summit has been blessed with a natural and steady growth over the last 25 years as many of the participants return year after year either as participants or team members and usually bring their friends. Several of our priests have had their own vocations impacted by Source + Summit and now encourage their youth to attend. Many past participants now have children who are attending Source + Summit and on the team.

Source + Summit is a three-day, engaging retreat that draws young people into a deeper relationship with Jesus, present to them throughout the weekend in the Eucharist. Small group breakout sessions allow youth from across the diocese to meet other youth, with many starting lasting friendships.

Registration is open. Please check with your parish Director of Religious Education or Youth Minister to see if you can join a group forming in your parish. Visit sourcesummitevansville.org for more information. Cost is $50, but scholarships are available.
