Special to The Message
The St. Meinrad Alumni Association is hosting its 10th annual St. Meinrad Day of Service March 9 in 12 cities. The service project at Corpus Christi Parish in Evansville will take place March 16.
The Day of Service is an opportunity for alumni of St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology – as well as oblates, friends and area residents – to set aside time to serve their communities.
Since its inaugural year in 2014, the day’s theme has been Ora et Labora (Pray and Work). Along with the service activities, prayer is planned into the day through celebrating Mass or praying the Liturgy of the Hours, including a special prayer written by Archabbot Benedictine Father Kurt Stasiak.
In 2024, the service projects will take place in these communities: Alexandria, Louisiana; Bloomington, Indiana; Copley, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Evansville; Hampton, Virginia; Hugo, Oklahoma; Indianapolis (two projects); Louisville, Kentucky (two projects); New Albany, Indiana (two projects); New York, New York; St. Meinrad; and Toledo, Ohio.
