What a view!

Josh Krempp of Krempp Construction in Jasper looks north as he stands atop the scaffolding surrounding the iconic bell tower of St. Joseph Church in Jasper in this Nov. 5 photo. Krempp Construction is the general contractor for the renovation of the church, and the Krempp family has a long and strong connection to St. Joseph. Josh’s great-great-great grandfather, Anton Hochgesang, helped build the original bell tower for the church. His name and initials are inscribed in the concrete at the base of the structure. With work wrapping up on the renovation of the tower, St. Joseph Parish invited media to make a guided climb to the top of the tower, some 235 feet, on Nov. 5. Along the way, climbers had a chance to inspect the bells, shown. And once at the top, guests had a chance to take in the phenomenal view; the photo in this group shows the view to the southwest. Krempp Construction is scheduled to begin removal of the scaffolding the week of Nov. 15, weather permitting.
