Bishop Joseph M. Siegel has announced new clergy assignments across the Diocese of Evansville. They will be effective June 29. Parish announcements occurred during April 23-24 weekend Masses.
Senior priests
Father John Boeglin and Father Joseph Erbacher will retire from pastoral ministry and transition to senior-priest status on that date. The Message will feature Father John and Father Joe in future issues as they prepare to continue service as senior priests of the diocese.
Pastors/administrators
Following are new assignments for pastors and adminitrators across the diocese.
- Father Alex Zenthoefer has been named rector of St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville, along with continuing service as pastor of Sts. Mary and John Parish in Evansville and as diocesan Vicar General
- Heralds of Good News Father Suresh Bakka has been named administrator of St. Mary Parish, Sullivan, and St. Joan of Arc Parish, Jasonville
- Father John Brosmer has been named pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Jasper
- Father Christopher Droste has been named pastor of St. Boniface Parish, Evansville
- Father Paul Ferguson has been named pastor of St. Isidore Parish, Celestine and Dubois
- Father Chris Forler has been named pastor of St. Bernard Parish, Snake Run, along with continuing service as pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Daylight
- Father Luke Hassler has been named administrator of St. Mary Parish, Ireland
- Father Gary Kaiser has been named pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Ft. Branch, along with continuing service as pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Princeton
- Father Ron Kreilein has been named pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Washington
- Father John Pfister has been named pastor of Holy Family Parish, Jasper
- Father Jeff Read has been named pastor of St. Bernard Parish, Rockport, and St. Martin I Parish, Chrisney.
- Father Andrew Thomas has been named administrator of St. James Parish and Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Haubstadt
Parochial Vicars
- Benedictine Father Christian Raab has been named parochial vicar at St. Joseph Parish, Jasper, along with a teaching assignment at St. Meinrad Seminary in St Meinrad
- Father Eugene Schmitt has been named parochial vicar at St. Benedict Cathedral, Evansville, and Sts. Mary and John Parish, Evansville
Parish Life Coordinator
- Deacon Tom Goebel has been named Parish Life Coordinator at Corpus Christi Parish, Evansville
Sacramental Minister
- Father Tyler Tenbarge has been named sacramental minister at Corpus Christi Parish, Evansville, along with continuing service as diocesan Vocation Director, and Chaplain and Director of the Father Deydier House of Discernment, Evansville
Vicar for Senior Priests
- Father John Boeglin has been named Vicar for Senior Priests
Religious
- Benedictine Father Godfrey Mullen has received an assignment in the Diocese of Belleville, Illinois.
