Before the Dec. 9 bilingual Mass at St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville anticipating the Dec. 12 Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Bertha Melendres, Director of the Diocese of Evansville Office of Hispanic Ministry, led the praying of the Guadalupan Rosary. A booklet with the prayers of this rosary appears on the website of the Archdiocese of Mexico. Bertha provided printed copies to Mass attendees.
The rosary begins with a traditional Act of Contrition. Five Guadalupan Mysteries follow, with the faithful praying the tradition of one Our Father, 10 Hail Marys and the Glory Be for each mystery. The booklet includes brief reflections on each mystery.
The mysteries include:
First Mystery: The Virgin Mary, “Mother of the true God for whom one lives,” appears to Juan Diego at Tepyac and sends him to the bishop to build a temple for her.
Second Mystery: Juan Diego returns sad before the Virgin because the bishop did not listen to him.
Third Mystery: Juan Diego tells the Virgin that the bishop did not believe his message.
Fourth Mystery: Juan Diego returns to the bishop with the sign the bishop had asked for.
Fifth Mystery: By unfurling his tilma with the roses, the image of the Virgin is miraculously stamped.
At the conclusion of the fifth mystery, the leader recites five prayers, and the faithful respond with prayers that include the Our Father after the first prayer and the Hail Mary after the next three prayers. They are followed by the Hail Holy Queen, and the rosary concludes with a Guadalupan Litany.

Antes de la Misa bilingüe del 9 de diciembre en la Catedral de San Benito en Evansville, anticipando la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del 12 de diciembre, Bertha Melendres, Directora de la Oficina del Ministerio Hispano de la Diócesis de Evansville, dirigió el rezo del Rosario Guadalupano. En el sitio web de la Arquidiócesis de México aparece un folleto con los rezos de este rosario. Bertha proporcionó copias impresas a los asistentes a la misa.
El rosario comienza con un tradicional Acto de Contrición. Siguen los cinco Misterios Guadalupanos, con los fieles rezando la tradición de un Padre Nuestro, 10 Avemarías y el Gloria para cada misterio. El folleto incluye breves reflexiones sobre cada misterio.
Los misterios incluyen:

Al concluir el quinto misterio, el líder recita cinco oraciones y los fieles responden con oraciones que incluyen el Padre Nuestro después de la primera oración y el Ave María después de las siguientes tres oraciones. Son seguidos por la Salve, y el rosario concluye con una Letanía Guadalupana.
