Our Lady of Hope Parish sets online auction

Special to The Message

The annual Our Lady of Hope Gala for 2020 was canceled in April due to the COVID-19 outbreak, so organizers decided to plan an online auction in lieu of the gala to help fund expenses for the Catholic Community of Washington.

Committee members told The Message, “We do know, however, that with God’s guidance we will get through these dark hours.”

To view auction items, visit www.BiddingOwl.com/CCW. The auction will officially run from June 22-29. The auction ends 8 p.m. EST June 29.

Many businesses and individuals have donated items including jewelry, pictures, theme baskets, and trips. There is bound to be something for everyone to bid on, according to organizers, and they said the auction website is “simple to navigate.”

The bidding site will also have a place to donate to this year’s Fund-a-Need item, which is a mid-bus (mini-bus) to be used for both school and parish events.

Supporters can also make a donation to the Catholic Community of Washington at ccwash.org and click the ‘Online Giving’ tab at the top of the webpage.

Those with winning bids at the end of the online auction may pick-up items at the Parish Office. Items can be shipped, but the person with the winning bid is responsible for the cost of shipping the item.

Committee members encourage everyone to share information about the online auction with relatives and alumni. They said, “You won’t want to miss out on not only a great auction, but a chance to help benefit our Catholic Community.”
