On Jan. 22, the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Right to Life of Southwest Indiana hosted a time of prayer to end abortion in front of Planned Parenthood. Diocese of Evansville Bishop Joseph M. Siegel and Diocesan Director of Family and Life Eric Girten joined about 50 adults and children who gathered on the sidewalks along North Weinbach Avenue to pray to end abortion. “It is important for those of us who value life to show our solidarity for the sanctity of life and to pray for the end of abortion,” said Mary Ellen Van Dyke, Right to Life of Southwest Indiana Executive Director. “Every life matters and has a purpose.” In the photo, Girten, fifth-from-left, is praying next to Bishop Siegel.
