A record crowd of more than 3,300 filled Old National Events Plaza for the annual Right to Life of Southwest Indiana Banquet, held Aug. 26. Candace Owens delivered the keynote address. She is the founder of the BLEXIT foundation, an organization dedicated to driving conservative principles into urban communities; and the host of the weekly "Candace Owens Show." Other featured speakers included Mike Fichter, CEO and president of Indiana Right to Life; Dr. Christina Francis, chairwoman of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians/ Gynecologists; Jennifer Christie, who shared her testimony of choosing life after a brutal rape; and Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life, who received the 2021 Life Achievement Award for his lifetime work dedicated to ending abortion. During the banquet, Right to Life also announced its intent to purchase a mobile clinic that will provide services to women such as ultrasounds, pregnancy testing and counseling for those who are in underserved areas in Southwest Indiana. In the first photo, Father Tyler Tenbarge, shown on the big screen, offers the invocation at the start of the evening. The second photo shows only a portion of the huge crowd that turned out to stand up for life.
