Source + Summit holds 20th retreat for young people

Bishop Joseph M. Siegel speaks to more than 400 young people during the April 1 opening Mass of the Source and Summit youth retreat, which was hosted by Mater Dei High School. This was the 20th Source + Summit retreat held in the Diocese of Evansville. In addition to priests of the diocese, speakers this year included Franciscan Friars of the Renewal Father Giles Marie Berrie, Father Justin Alarcon, Father Terry Messer and Brother Joseph Novak; Apostolic Sister of the Community of St. John Sister Anne Diukart; members of the Sisters of Life; Members of the Nashville Dominican Sisters; missionary Nic Davidson; and illusionist Giancarlo Bernini.

Source + Summit opening Mass

Priests of the Diocese of Evansville and of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal concelebrated the Source + Summit opening Mass with Bishop Siegel on April 1 at Mater Dei High School. Deacon Robert Mattingly of St. Boniface Parish assisted. Diocesan Director of Worship Matt Miller served as master of ceremonies, and seminarians of the diocese were servers.
